boundary line in history between two countries The events of the twenty five years leading to the liberation of Bangladesh which in itself is a history shaping event has been however dealt with rather summarily possibly because of space constraints Sengupta ends the book with a very perceptive observation In the case of Bangladesh while they are very proud of their own language and cultural identity they have to guard against two powerful pulls first pan Islamic Wahabi Islamic fundamentalism and jehadi fanaticism and second the powerful pan Indian cultural and social system Naturally
